Happy Halloween!

BOO!!!BOO!!!BOO!!!BOO!!!BOO!!!BOO!!!BOO!!!

From the World's Cutest Tinkerbell, Alex, and the Universe's Most Powerful Jedi, Obi-Ben-Kano bi! For only going to five houses, they sure did end up with a lot of candy!

Pumpkins!

Mr. Dibble was gracious enough to come over and help Alex and Ben carve their scary Halloween Pumpkins. He did a super job - scary eyes, big toothy smiles, and ears! They had a wonderful time cleaning out the inside and could not wait for it to be lit. They even sorted through the gooey insides to get the seeds so they could toast them. They ate almost the entire tray of them!

Class Field Trip

WOO HOO! Nothing says fun like 120 screaming Kindergartners on a school bus on their way to the pumpkin patch on curvy, one lane roads! It was a wonderful day. Our group had Alex Vidican, or as Ben calls him, "My Bestest Buddy!" And Alex had Kyli and Karen with her. It was fun. We did the straw maze, the hay ride, and took some pictures with some huge pumpkins! I think Alex, Alex, and Ben had the best time!

Bible Hero Night

Tonight at Awanas was "Favorite Bible Hero". I let Alex and Ben choose what they wanted to be and what they wanted to wear. Alex went as Mary, complete with donkey, (OK, it was a horse, but they are from the same family aren't they?), and a baby. Ben went as elephant from Noah's Ark. He even brought Fluffy, he beloved elephant, because they went two by two of course! (He wanted to take Race Car, but he is still bigger than Ben is!)

Ceramics anyone???

OK, Kim and I have these ideas; and they seem terrific at the time, but for some reason we are often left wondering, "What were we thinking?" afterwards. We took Alex, Ben, Chase, and Drew to Clay-N-Latte to paint Halloween plates. The idea was to have them paint their plate in fabulous Halloween colors, and then they put their fists on it and Viola! it looks like a pumpkin. Again, all I can say is, "It seemed like a good idea at the time!" They all had fun and we are just hoping they turn out better then they look!

Twins Pumpkin Patch

We had a great time at Pinery Farms. It was amazing to see how quickly most things had already grown back after last year's fire decimated it and everything around it. There were still evidence of the fires from the remains of charred to trees to the still barren hillsides with homes still be rebuilt, but things were coming back. We of course wore our new, ever so stylish, hand-made, Tye-dyed shirts. They were fun to make - but tangerine orange was quite an interesting shade of orange.(not one worn in the daylight too often I presume) Making the faces was lots of fun too. Once there, besides looking fabulous, we got to go into the corn maze - Ben has an amazing sense of direction, go on a tractor ride, and find that ever so perfect pumpkin ( it can not be done in less than a half an hour) It was so much fun to see Alex and Ben interact with the other twins and remember how much they have changed since we all first started going to the pumpkin patch together.

Sparky Drive-In

Awana's had a Kids Night Out and it was a night at the Drive-In. Everyone decorated a box like a car and got to go sit in their "car" and watch the Veggie Tales movie, "The Pirates Who Do Nothing". Alex and Ben,, with the help of Virginia, painted their cars and glued all sorts of things onto their car. Ben's car was super fast, complete with a steering wheel, exhaust pipe (black with smoke), and flames down the side. Alex wanted a bubble gum car, complete with bubble gum circles and Easter Eggs glued on to look like bubbles. It was so much fun and they had a super time. They love to sit in their cars and go to the drive-in for movies now!

Little Mermaid Play

Ben, Alex, her friend Kyli, Tristan, Peanut, Mrs. Burnes, and I went to see The Little Mermaid that the youth theater performs. It was very cute and we had a super evening. Before we left, I told Alex and Ben it was going to be cold, so they might want a jacket. Alex ran upstairs and came back with her pink boa she bought at the last play. She was quite stylish!

Happy 6th Birthday!

Alex and Ben had their birthday party today! WOW! What a day - A train, (gracious compliments of Mr. Dibble), a jumper, caramel apples, bobbing for apples, face painting, doughnut eating contests and of course nothing says Hascall's like the food, Chick-fil-A (as if there was another choice!) Even though we asked for no gifts - there were way too many. Everyone was very generous and hopefully had a great time. The best was when Dan, Jan, and Billy had their own doughnut eating contest. Too funny! Alex and Ben had a wonderful day and I am so glad that so many of their friends, invited and not officially invited, could come be a part of their celebration!

More Birthday photos!!

Such a wonderfully fun day!

Happy Birthday!

Alex and Ben turned 6 today! Wow! I can hardly believe it! Alex has asked for two years if she can get her ears pierced, so we decided that it would be a great present for her. After school, Grandma Hascall, Aunt Debbie, God Mother Virginia, and I went to Claire's in the mall and Alex got her ears pierced. She choose a pink birthstone (SURPRISE!) She looked so small in the chair, but she did a marvelous job and only teared up once. She was so thrilled she was finally a big girl. Afterwards, we meet Grandpa Hascall, Daddy, Ben, and Cousin Adam at where else...Chick-fil-A!

Sparkles

Alex bought herself her guinea pig today. She named her Sparkles and is so thrilled. She has not put it down yet. I can not believe she saved up $20 to purchase it. Even more astounding is Ben has saved almost $50 for his snake!

Hot Air Balloons!

5:00 in the morning, Alex, Ben, and I went out to see the balloons take off. Early, yes, but the doughnut stand made it a fun, and delicious morning. The balloons were amazing! These huge glowing balls in the sky against a backdrop of black. As the sky brightened, we got to help unfold the balloons and watch them filled with air by huge fans, and then take off into the big, blue sky. It was definitely one of the most beautiful sites I have seen - stunning! It is hard to describe - nothing but black and a few balloon glows, then the next time you turn around, the sky is littered with various shapes gently and aimlessly lofting away. It was so neat! I hope to go back again!

More Balloons!!

Alex and Ben got to walk around to each hot air balloon and get a trader card, sort of like baseball cards, only cooler - they have hot air balloons on them. They were having a blast - me too!
