Today we got to join the Peterson's on their school field trip to Riley's Farm. It is a Colonial farm that lets you learn about things in that time period. We got to churn butter, learn to write with a quill, Ben learned how to bow properly to a lady (lifting his hat and all), while Alex learned to curtsy. They learned a dance, how to weave, games of the time period, which they loved!, helped an apple press make cider (or ale), watched a silversmith melt and reform metal, and help carry a Colonial flag. It was so neat. The highlight of course was this monstrous apple pie that I purchased to take home. It was beyond delicious!
