Day TWO!

Day TWO!

Today was much better. We had delicious oatmeal with bananas and strawberries on top - yummy! Brushed our teeth, washed our faces, got dressed and brushed the oatmeal out of our hair. It truly amazes me how they manage to get oatmeal in their hair! Ben continued to plead his case that he really does not need to go to school, because he can already read. I informed him there was so much he can learn in school and how very exciting that everyday he goes to school he can learn something new. He thought for a minute and replied, "Mommy, I didn't learn anything yesterday, I already knew it all, so I don't need to go!" As I walked away trying not to laugh at his brilliant reasoning, he leaned over to Alex and questioned her, "Alex did you learn anything yesterday? Or do you know it all too?"

He continued to try his case until we walked in their room. We put our newly decorated lunch bags (designed by Alex and Ben of course) and folders into our cubbies. Said our good byes - Alex anxious to join the group singing ran up and sat down, Ben huge brown eyes, filled with crocodile tears, gave me a big hug and said, "But Mommy, I might miss you, !" I replied, "I might miss you too!" and with that he sat down next to Alex and his day began!
